As passengers live, eat and sleep on a cruise ship, it is vital for cruise lines to provide many ways to pass the hours. And with cruises attracting a wider range of passengers, onboard attractions and entertainment must be able to suit a variety of needs. That’s why we have compiled five of our most innovative entertainment exhibitors along with the many exciting attractions they build. With these suppliers, the opportunities are endless!

In this new product focus series, we will be highlighting exhibitors and their products that specialise in designing a particular interior space category on board a cruise ship in the weeks before CSI, starting with entertainment and attractions. Escape Rooms

Escape rooms have massively grown in global popularity over the last few years. These exciting attractions bring players of all ages and abilities together working towards the same goal: solve the mysteries and escape! Thanks to their social nature, escape rooms are perfect for families and groups of friends. In 2019, there were an estimated 1,500 escape rooms in the UK alone! Therefore, it should come as no surprise that escape rooms have begun popping up at sea on cruise ships.

7D Theaters

Since 3D theatres burst onto our screens, we have seen the development of 4D, 5D, and now even 7D theater. But what is a 7D theater? This interactive experience fully immerses the viewers into a story with full-motion seats that can tilt, sway, vibrate, blast air, and even spray viewers! While in the theater, you can also expect smoke, bubbles and even scents.

CSI exhibitor Delta Strike is the innovative supplier behind 7D Theater Max, an advanced, full-motion theater that provides a fully immersive, 7D experience. They also provide custom-made content created by their own in-house production team and cutting-edge graphic art studios. They create and develop interactive 3D movies for the 4D, 5D, or 7D theater using the highest cinematographic standards and advanced technology.

In addition to 7D theaters, Delta Strike has also developed a VR & 360° ride for experiencing roller coasters virtually. Here, riders wear VR headsets and are seated in full-motion effect seats for the full-body roller coaster fantasy experience. Delta Strike also produces laser tag attractions.

Delta Strike will be exhibiting on booth 373 at Cruise Ship Interiors Design Expo Americas 2022.

Rollercoaster Simulators

It is no secret that rollercoasters are one of the most popular amusement rides. These thrill-inducing, heart-pounding rides have been around for over 200 years! However, while many thrill-seekers love the rush of adrenaline that a rollercoaster can give, for others it can be a cause for motion sickness. That’s where rollercoaster simulators come in. These rides not only allow more people to enjoy the experience of a rollercoaster, but they can also provide a more immersive experience and have limitless possibilities thanks to VR and other special effects.

CSI exhibitor DOF Robotics is a leader in the AR and VR entertainment industry. The company has been producing high quality, innovative simulator amusement products since 2006, revolutionising the industry with its immersive attractions. They aim to work with clients to understand their needs and then personalise each attraction to fit those. The main features of their rides are maximum adrenaline and maximum speed, without experiencing motion sickness.

DOF Robotics’ latest innovation is award winning rollercoaster simulator Hurricane 360

DOF Robotics’ latest ride is award winning Hurricane 360, a thrill inducing rollercoaster simulator. Hurricane 360 is a 4-seat model, 6-Axis Motion Ride with a 360-degree rotation capability, which makes it a 7DOF. The ride uses specially designed Shoulder Harness Coaster Seats and is compatible with VR Dome or Flat screens. It can play VR or 3D ride movies. Hurricane 360 also includes special effects such as water, rain, airblast, fog and snow for extra impact!

DOF Robotics will be exhibiting on booth 371 at Cruise Ship Interiors Design Expo Americas 2022.

Flying Theaters

Flying theaters are a new type of theater that utilize an elevated seating platform with motion seats, and an immersive screen. The screens will usually play tours of popular landmarks or stunning natural scenery, allowing viewers to go on an aerial tour. This is a fully interactive experience, using surround sound system and special effects for realism.

Flying theaters, built by Dynamic Attractions, take viewers on an exciting, flying adventure

CSI exhibitor Dynamic Attractions builds flying theaters that can be enjoyed around the world. After taking their seats, riders discover the floor beneath them has disappeared. While suspended in air, they suddenly they find themselves leaping from the stratosphere and hang-gliding over Rio. To complete the experience, the trueflight motion system tilts the seats to emulate flight.

Dynamic Attractions will be exhibiting on booth 456 at Cruise Ship Interiors Design Expo Americas 2022.

Eatertainment

Eatertainment is a rising trend within the food and beverage industry, driven by the changing tastes of consumers, especially millennials, who increasingly seek memorable and unique experiences. This attraction marries food with entertainment, with activities and experiences taking place before, after, or between courses. This is already being adopted on cruise ships such as Disney Wish’s new Marvel themed and Frozen themed dining experiences, and Celebrity Cruises’ AR dining experience, Le Petit Chef. And as the trend shows no signs of slowing, eatertainment is sure to feature on even more newbuilds going forward.

CSI exhibitor KCC Entertainment Design has been building entertainment projects for over 20 years. It is one of the world’s leading entertainment design companies having delivered over 226 projects in over 45 countries. One of the leading projects they offer is eatertainment, designing dinner with a show. KCC Entertainment Design believes that going for a meal should be more than just food, as they can build immersive environments, multifunctional stages, show elements and even the integration of real attractions to define new food experiences.
