Born and raised in Flint, Michigan, Greg discovered that he had a talent for identifying and recreating images at age 11 when he drew an exact replica of a cartoon from a newspaper using colored pencils. Greg would put on his headphones and draw for hours each day. He accredits Norman Rockwell as one of his inspirations as he would often duplicate his works as a young boy.

Greg’s mother and father were both very supportive of his skill for illustration and encouraged him to pursue a career in art. After high school, Greg attended Kendall College of Art & Design at Ferris State University in Grand Rapids, Michigan and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Illustration in 1990.

In 1992, Greg moved to San Jose, CA where he eventually made his home in Monterey, CA for twenty years, having owned a small gallery on Cannery Row. During that time, he became the first apprentice of world-renowned artist Thomas Kinkade. He worked for Kinkade’s Media Arts Group for 12 years before taking a sabbatical from the artworld for over 5 years.

Greg moved from Monterey, CA to New Orleans, LA in 2009 where he has found tremendous inspiration in the lifestyle of New Orleans. He currently splits his time between Monterey, CA, New Orleans, LA and Naples, FL.

Greg’s artwork is still displayed in many homes and businesses throughout the world. He has commissioned pieces at several hotel and restaurants and has furnished the American Cruise Lines Mississippi River ships with artwork and Sculptures. He has created and furnished artwork for nine of their cruise ships from 2012 through 2023. In 2018, he was commissioned by the Dauphine Orleans Hotel to create seven pieces of artwork for their newly renovated bar and dining room. In 2024, Greg created artwork for the bar at the Admiral Hotel in Mobile, AL.

Greg continues his artistic journey with enthusiasm and passion, which is clearly present in each piece he creates.

The International Marine Purchasing Association (or simply put, IMPA) is the non-profit organisation that has been at the heart of the marine procurement and supply chain management industry since 1978.
