Bergo deck coverings can be found on hundreds of ship decks throughout the world
Bergo Flooring develops and supplies safe, slip reducing and sound-absorbing flooring that features a non-organic and eco-friendly material. The lightweight, draining and venting design allows the surface to stay dry and is also comfortable to walk on, even barefoot in warm climates. BERGO protects the painted deck for many years to come and, in addition to the easy installation and minimal maintenance, will give a quick pay-off.
Emil Lindén, Managing Director at Bergo Flooring, says: “Flooring is an entire science. When evaluating a deck covering for a vessel, you have to consider factors such as: installation, appearance, maintenance, cleaning, sound absorbance, durability and removal. Bergo Flooring is supplying a range of well-proven interlocking flooring products that fulfils the requirements for floorings that are exposed to harsh weather, strong sunlight, rain, cold and ice”.
Bergo Flooring has been supplying floorings for balconies, indoor and outdoor decks and public spaces since 1972 and is a well-established supplier to the marine sector. Mr. Lindén adds that it is important to meet new standards. “BERGO EXCELLENCE EXTREME is the newest addition in our flooring range. It is developed to meet the standards established by the International Maritime Organization and conforms to relevant MED and IMO. BERGO EXCELLENCE EXTREME is also the only IMO-approved interlocking floor tile in the world!”
Bergo will be supplying to several interesting projects in the near future. One of them this spring will be to the passenger ship Crown Iris owned by Mano Maritime in Israel. “We are proud to supply to Mano Maritime, which is a reputable shipping company, ranked by Dun’s”, says Mr. Lindén. The Crown Iris is 1000-passenger ship leaving from homeport Haifa Israel and operates on cruises to Greek Islands, Romania, and Bulgaria. “In such extreme and hot climate, Bergo Floor tiles ventilate the hot painted deck and offers an isolating and safe surface to walk on”.
As well as new ships, Bergo deck coverings can be found on several existing vessels on hundreds of ship decks throughout the world, from the Hurtigruten coastal vessels in Norway to luxury cruisers, such as NCL, in the West Indies, but even passenger ferries.
