Miami, FL, July 2019 – Last week at the Miami Beach Convention Center, Cruise Ship Interiors Expo’s launch event was received victoriously by the entire marine interiors community as cruise lines, designers, and shipyards gathered in their thousands.

“Cruise Ship Interiors Expo brought together all the right people in one place. We enjoyed the event and definitely consider it to be a most successful experience.”

At the inaugural event, Cruise Ship Interiors Design Expo Americas’ CEO Toby Walters announced the launch of the brand’s latest endeavour, the Cruise Ship Interiors Awards.

Taking place ahead of next year’s show, which will run from June 16-17, the CSIA will be held on June 15, 2020, at the Faena Forum in Miami Beach.

Like the inaugural expo & conference, CSI Awards was launched with a purpose. The awards will provide a platform for interior designers’ projects from the last two years to be acknowledged by a forum of fellow industry experts.

Cruise Ship Interiors’ CEO Toby Walters has shared his thoughts on the newly announced awards, commenting, “Launching the world’s first marine interiors awards enables the industry to get the credit and recognition they rightly deserve. Having an awards night dedicated exclusively to the designers, suppliers and cruise line executives will complement the exhibition and conference taking place in the same week (Cruise Ship Interiors Expo North America 2020). With cruise lines competing to design and build the most innovative and attractive spaces, I believe that the Cruise Ship Interiors Awards will become a prestigious accolade for designers and will allow the cruise lines to identify award-winning designers.”

Award categories will be judged by an elected panel of cruise line executives and interior designers. There will also be the option of the general public voting via the awards website, which will be launching soon.

Confirmed categories for the awards include:

  • Best Cabin Design
  • Best Flooring
  • Best Sustainability Initiative
  • Best Spa/Wellness Facility
  • Legend of Design

There is no fee for companies to submit their entry to the CSIA. Awards finalists will be invited to celebrate their success at an exclusive nominees’ party, taking place alongside Cruise Ship Interiors Design Expo Europe from December 4-5, 2019.
